Premier League winner odds and betting: Who will win the Premier League this season?

THE Premier league makes its long-awaited return this weekend, with several sides eyeing one thing - top spot.

Manchester City have topped the table in five of the last six seasons and top the betting markets every year. This year is no different though there's a group of hungry managers and clubs in behind, desperate for a taste of glory.

Can City hold on, or will one of those clubs normally in the hunt for Europe, find themselves in a title race?

Who is favourite to win the Premier League 2023/24?

Here's the latest odds from bet365

  • Man City - 8/11
  • Arsenal - 9/2
  • Liverpool - 8/1
  • Man Utd - 11/1
  • Chelsea - 14/1
  • Newcastle - 14/1
  • Tottenham - 40/1

Man City 8/11 | Manager: Pep Guardiola

The defending champions have been there and done it all before and they'll be tough to peg back again this year. Disappointment in the Community Shield but don't have the weight of "needing" to win the Champions League this year.

Worthy favourites though not one to back if looking for any value.

Arsenal 9/2 | Manager: Mikel Arteta

Arguably no better chance to win the title than last season when they fluffed their lines but they'll be determined to make that right.

Spent heavily in the summer to close that gap though will have Champions League football to navigate too.

Overcame City in Community Shield and celebrated considerably for it. Will be hoping that's a marker and last season was no fluke.

Liverpool 8/1 | Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Came roaring back to form in latter part of the season and narrowly missed out on top four. Difficult to tell how they'll do playing Thursday night's in Europa League and how seriously they'll take that.

New-look midfield which appears more agile on paper. Only team outside Man City to win top flight since 2017/18 and fancied by plenty to push them close again.

Man Utd 11/1 | Erik ten Hag

A decent enough first season and a trophy to his name for Erik ten Hag - but he was brought in for more than just that. Spent plenty in the summer and has a new number nine so will be judged this season if not going to plan.

Showed plenty of glimpses of how he wants his team to play and could be a really good season for the Red Devils, if their big men stay fit.

Chelsea 14/1 | Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Can't possibly do any worse than they did last year. Pochettino has been appointed and the signs are encouraging that a better campaign will be had by all.

Nicolas Jackson's signing from Villarreal looks a good one and he could fire Europe-less Chelsea back amongst the PL elite.

Newcastle 14/1 | Manager: Eddie Howe

Excellent season last year that came earlier than the Toon hierarchy envisaged. Hoping to go one better but will have tough campaign with Champions League football back at St James' Park and an expected return to form of some others.

Sandro Tonali an inspired signing and should be up challenging again. Will PL title chase be a step too far?

Who is the most likely outsider team to win the PL?

It could be argued that every team other than Manchester City is an outsider, with Arsenal the shortest odds at 9/2. Liverpool look a big price and they're fancied to do very well this season.

But if you're looking for big value and a big price, Chelsea would seem the bet. They're without Europe and with Pochettino in charge, he could transform the success at the club.

Tottenham's chances depend on Harry Kane. Without Europe, Kane staying and fighting solely on the Premier League front - with the help of serial winner Ange Postecoglou - could help Spurs surprise a few people and their 40/1 price could be on the big side.

How does Premier League winner betting work?

Quite simply, you're betting on who you think finishes top after the 38 games. It's normally a bet which will remain live for a good few months at least, before one or two start falling out the race.

With bet365, you can also back a winner at an 'each way' price and they're paying places 1-2 in their each way. That means if your selection just misses out and finishes second, you'll be paid out at 1/3 of the odds you selected.

For example, if you take Spurs at big odds and they finish runners-up, you'll be paid at 1/3 of the odds you take for them to be winners. If they win, you'll be paid out at the odds selected.
