Their third round victory over Huddersfield aside, Preston's home form of late has been dreadful to say the least.
Ryan Lowe's side have won just three times at Deepdale in the Championship all season and go into tonight's clash on a four-match losing run.
Furthermore, only Wolves and Gillingham (6) have scored fewer in home games this term than the Whites.
On the other hand, Tottenham's away form has picked up since the World Cup with standout results coming against Crystal Palace and Fulham last time out.
In fact, Antonio Conte's side have picked up as many points on their travels (18) as they have in North London.

Richarlison misses out
Richarlison's recent frustrations continue as he misses out once again with a minor injury sustained in training.
Tottenham assistant manager Cristian Stellini said: "Richarlison is not available today, it's not a big problem, so we have only to wait some days."
The Brazilian has started just ONE game for Spurs since the middle of October.
Hugo Lloris, Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Pape Matar Sarr are also not involved at Deepdale.
Recent meetings
Tonight is Preston's first clash with Tottenham since a Carabao Cup tie back in 2009.
On that occasion, Spurs, boasting the likes of Gareth Bale, Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch in their starting XI, ran out 5-1 winners.
