Punchestown report: Galvin cruises to emphatic win on return

Galvin repeated last season's success in the Irish Daily Star – Best For Racing Coverage Chase at Punchestown. Gordon Elliott's horse made light work of his rivals under 12lb. He will go to Down Royal with Conflated. Paddy Power clipped the eight-year-old to 16-1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Jack Kennedy said Run Wild Fred would be better off in a big handicap.

Adamantly Chosen won the Grade Three Buck House Novice Chase at Punchestown. Marine Nationale won his hurdling debut under Michael O'Sullivan. Barry Connell is looking to step Marine up in class. He may go for a Grade 3 in Navan (For Auction Novices' Hurdle, on November 13). If he's still on track, he could go to the Royal Bond. Paddy Power keeps Marine's odds at 25-1 for the Supreme Noviced's H hurdle. He was 4 lengths too good for Viceregent in the two-mile maiden hurdle. The horse was trained by Barryconnell.
