Champion jockey William Buick is in red-hot form riding four winners on Sunday after winning on his last two rides at York on Saturday

William Buick: rode a four-time to net punter £10k

Champion jockey William Buick’s irresistible form has earned a punter a cool £10,000 windfall.

The rider is 20 winners clear in the defence of his Flat title and in current form he is going to prove impossible to catch. Buick won on his last two rides at York on Saturday and carried his momentum forward to Yarmouth on Sunday.

He took his hot streak to six by riding four winners from his four rides, at combined odds of 1,000-1 It helped one Betfair customer net £10,000 after placing a £10 accumulator on the champ.

The multiple bet got off to the best possible start when his first selection, Lambert, saw the ran out a convincing four lengths winner at odds of 5-2.

His next winner, Renesmee, was less decisive but saw Buick at his brilliant best to prevail by a head on the 7-1 chance. The third leg, 9-2 shot Royal Symbol, enjoyed another good ride from the champion jockey, running out a one length winner.

The punter had to wait until the last race at 5.25pm for the fourth and final leg, but again he didn’t have any significant worries, with Red Maids a convincing winner as the 100-30 favourite.

Betfair spokesman, Barry Orr, said: ‘’William Buick is the reigning champion jockey and has a big following among punters. Obviously, this customer is one of them and a with him landing a 1000-1 acca he is, no doubt, just raising a glass to William.

Buick is 1-4 with the bookmaker to land his second championship with Oisin Murphy next on 5-1.
