Punters quick to plunge on Blamey Stakes favourite

The early firmer has been Gentleman Roy with Ladbrokes.com.au for the Blamey Stakes (1600m) this Saturday at Flemington.

The Team Hayes trained gelding was first past the post in the CF Orr but lost it on protest and will look to make amends here, with a win securing him a start in the All Star Mile. $3.50 was the opening price and he’s been well backed, now into $2.90.

Tuvalu is on the second line of betting at $4.20, in from $4.80. Pounding is on the slide with the support for the first two, now at $7.50 from $6.50.
