Raptors picks and props vs. Nets Nov. 28: Bet on Dennis Schroder having a solid night

The Toronto Raptors continue their road trip tonight with a meeting against the Brooklyn Nets.

The pregame narrative: Dennis Schroder has been on a tear and is worth backing against a Nets team that's below-average defensively. While Schroder is poised for a nice game, Brooklyn is a solid bet to cover as a slim home favourite.

Raptors picks and props vs. Nets

Best Bet: Schroder over 15.5 points (-114)

For all the grief Toronto's front office received over last year's trade deadline blunders, they deserve some credit for signing Schroder.

The German point guard stumbled out of the gates but turned things on in November. He's averaging 17.5 points per game this month on 47.7% shooting. Those aren't eye-popping numbers but he's not expected to be the team's first, second, or even third option on most nights.

That said, there have certainly been games where Schroder is the guy.

Schroder has five games of 23-plus points this month and three of those have come in his last six. He's never dipped below 15 points in that span and that type of consistency is nice to see when betting on a player.

The Nets are also a nice matchup for Schroder. They are a bottom-third defensive team and rank 22nd in defensive rating (115.4) and 20th in points per game (114.6). To strengthen this case further, Brooklyn allows the most three-pointers per game (4.19) to opposing point guards, according to Fantasy Pros.

Key stat: Schroder is averaging 20.3 points over his last six games, clearing this total five times.

Quick pick

Nets -1.5 (-110): The Nets are dealing with some injuries but are still worth a look to cover a modest 1.5-point spread. Brooklyn is 12-3-1 ATS this year (second-best in NBA) and is 7-1-1 ATS at home.

Granted, the Nets are only 8-8 straight up, but they've had the Raptors' number as of late.

Brooklyn has won four straight games against Toronto covering a 1.5-point spread in all of those contests. The Raps are also 3-5 on the road this season.
