Raptors same-game parlay predictions vs. Spurs Nov. 5: Fade Sochan and take the under

The Toronto Raptors hit the road for a date against the buzzworthy San Antonio Spurs.

The pregame narrative: San Antonio has won three of its last four games and Victor Wembanyama is coming off his best game as a pro. I'm teasing up the underdog Spurs and looking to back the under as Toronto continues to play in low-scoring games. Thirdly, we're fading point guard Jeremy Sochan as he enters a difficult matchup.

Same-game parlay Raptors predictions

Parlay: Spurs +9.5 + Under 230.5 + Sochan under 12.5 points (+188)

Spurs +9.5 (-275): The Spurs have already shown improvement through their first five games of the season as Wembanyama adjusts to life in the NBA.

San Antonio is a perfect 3-0 in games where the rookie records 20-plus combined points and rebounds. He enters Sunday's game having done just that in back-to-back contests against a team many expect to contend for a title: the Phoenix Suns.

He impressively scored 38 points in his most recent performance and is leading a Spurs offence that is tied for 11th in points per game (115.0).

Toronto has a 2-4 record and its offence has been putrid. The Raptors rank 29th in points per game (104.5), only ahead of the New York Knicks. They've failed to win by 10-plus in five of six outings.

Other parlay picks

Under 230.5 points (-295): Toronto's style of play gives me very little confidence in this over hitting.

The Raptors (96.66) have the lowest pace rating in the league. Longer possessions mean fewer possessions, and that's a big reason why they're one of the worst scoring offences.

It's also why the Raps are one of the best defences. The limited possessions naturally leads to fewer scoring opportunities for the opposing offence, and that explains how they're allowing the sixth-fewest points per game (106.0).

The under on this total has hit in five of Toronto's six games.

Sochan under 12.5 points (-250): Toronto's defence will likely be able to keep Sochan in check.

The Spurs point guard is averaging 9.8 points per game, and he even has a scoreless performance vs. the Clippers on his ledger despite logging over 22 minutes in that game.

The Raptors are very good at slowing down opposing teams' backcourts. They're surrendering the fewest points per game to shooting guards (17.5) and the fourth-fewest to point guards (19.3), according to Fantasy Pros.
