Raptors vs. Hornets same-game parlay picks: Bet on Anunoby and the under

The Toronto Raptors settle in for a two-game set with the Charlotte Hornets.

The pregame narrative: Charlotte is keeping games close these days, making the team an attractive option on an alternate spread. The Hornets are also the best under squad in the NBA, so we’re teasing up the total for some added insurance. Lastly, we’re expecting OG Anunoby to usurp his assist prop.

NBA odds as of 9:35 a.m. on 04/02/2023.

Raptors vs. Hornets same-game parlay picks

Parlay: Hornets +21.5 + Under 232.5 + Anunoby over 2.5 assists (+420)

Hornets +21.5 (-286): Charlotte is actually playing some solid basketball lately and this line isn’t asking the squad to do too much.

The Hornets have won three of their last four — and four of their last six — ahead of this contest. This stretch includes a pair of victories over the Dallas Mavericks and wins over the Indian Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Toronto, meanwhile, is on the road where the team has struggled mightily. The Raptors are a brutal 12-25 away from Scotiabank Arena this season, losing five consecutive games.

As one would imagine, covering this number isn’t something the Raps have done very often on the road this year. They’ve won by 22-plus points in just one road outing (at San Antonio, Nov. 2).

Other parlay picks

Under 232.5 points (-345): Sunday’s game total is set at 222.5, so we’re teasing it up to be safe.

The reason for our under pick is pretty simple: The Hornets own the best under percentage (57.7%) in the NBA.

That number spikes to 68.4% at home, where the wager has cashed in 26 of 38 outings. When looking at how Charlotte has performed against this number, the team has gone below it in 16 of its past 17.

The Raptors (55.8%) are one of the better over teams in the league, but surpassing this number is a tall task even for them. They’ve fallen short of this mark in seven consecutive games.

Charlotte will likely be without key offensive members Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier, only strengthening the case for the under.

Anunoby over 2.5 assists (+150): We’re asking Anunoby to do a little more than he’s accustomed to with this wager, but he should be up to the task.

Toronto’s shooting guard is averaging 1.9 assists per game this year, putting him comfortably below this line. He has, however, gone over it in back-to-back games and the matchup should certainly prop him up.

The Hornets are allowing the most assists per contest (5.69) to shooting guards this year, according to FantasyPros.
