Red Sox select Alabama OF in seventh round (208 overall) in 2023 MLB Draft
The Red Sox made their ninth pick in the 2023 MLB Draft on Monday when they selected Caden Rose in the seventh round.
Rose, an outfielder out of Alabama, was drafted 208th overall. He dealt with injuries for most of the 2023 season, but still managed to play in 48 games (46) starts for the Crimson Tide. Rose hit .261 with 10 doubles, nine home runs and 26 RBI.

Despite the injuries he faced last year, Rose still showcased his power, slashing 261/.383/.503 in 153 plate appearances.
The 21-year-old thrived in the field, amassing a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 105 chances.
Before committing to Alabama, Rose also had an offer from Nebraska — but not for baseball. He also was a 2-star high school quarterback and had 16 touchdowns during his senior year.
