Restaurant Review: Brunch at Spoke & Hub

City Group Hospitality took over the former Bistro Byronz location on Government Street and converted it into a neighborhood diner serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. A dessert bar offers slices of weekly cakes and pies, while behind the building lies a bar stirring up inventive cocktails with retro vibes.

Spoke & Hub is a new restaurant in Mid City. It serves a straightforward breakfast, lunch and dinner with a few twists. The menu is varied, with specialty cocktails, mimosas and bloody marys, and boozy milkshakes and beer floats. The croffles are a signature item, marrying croissant dough and a waffle. Chicken Fried Biscuit is tasty and pancakes are good for sweet tooths. Spoke and Hub opened at the beginning of the year in the former Bistro Byronz spot. Its owners were betting that a neighborhood diner with cycling theme would be a success in Baton Rouge.
