Richie James has rediscovered love for football, regained key role with Giants

Richie James has been up and down since he was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2018. He was the Giants' most reliable wide receiver at the beginning of the season, but then he became an afterthought in the offense. Now he has 22 receptions for 42 yards in 5 weeks, more than his previous career high of 23. James is also back to returning punts. On Sunday he played a key role in Giants’ 20-12 victory over the Washington Commanders. He had four catches for four yards and a punt return of a season-best 23 yards. The 27-year-old missed the 2021 season with a knee injury.
