Rockets depth chart prediction 2.0: Who stays at center? Rookie Tari Eason, and more

The Houston Rockets are halfway through their preseason. They have won two straight games. The regular season starts in less than two weeks. Houston has 19 players on its roster and has until the start of the regularseason to trim that to 15. Willie Cauley-Stein is expected to be the first player to get cut.  The team will sign players to their G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Vipers. It's the second update to the depth chart based on observations from training camp and preseason (so far).

Bruno Fernando has taken Usman Garuba's place as the team's third center. The team has too many centers, especially behind starting center Alperen Sengun. The club is also looking for a replacement for injured center Tari Eason. It's not a knock on Garubai's game, but he's done a good job defending this month.

After Marjanovic and Favors, the Rockets don't need five centers on their roster. Marjano is probably going to make the final 15-man roster on opening night. Favor is the odd man out here.

Tari Eason impressed Lucas with his 24-point, eight-rebound performance. K.J. Martin played well in his first game since starting in the starting line-up. Jalen Green had a good game with 23 points and four treys.   He was compared to Dennis Rodman. He is a solid outside shooter, but not regarded as a threat. His off-ball movement and cutting have always been positives in him. The team has effective half-court offense with Tate and Martin on the floor. It's possible to have effective spacing even with perceived spacing issues.
