Rockets vs. Pelicans: Prediction, betting odds, spread for Friday

The Houston Rockets kick off their in-season tournament schedule with a home game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.

If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet.

Let’s take a look at the odds, courtesy of BetMGM:

  • Point spread: Rockets -2.5
  • Money line: Rockets -135 / Pelicans +110
  • Over-under: 217.5

Pelicans at Rockets injury report:

Rockets: Alperen Sengun (left ankle sprain) is questionable. Victor Oladipo (left patellar tendon repair) and Amen Thompson (right ankle sprain) missed Wednesday’s game.

Pelicans: CJ McCollum (right lung small pneumothorax), Jose Alvarado (right ankle sprain), and Trey Murphy III (left knee partial meniscectomy) are all out. Naji Marshall (right knee contusion) is doubtful. Zion Williamson (personal reasons) and Herbert Jones (right fibula contusion) are questionable.

Advice and prediction

The line could move significantly if Zion Williamson and Herbert Jones are cleared to play on Friday, though both missed the Rockets’ loss on Wednesday. Regardless, the Pels are in disarray, losing three in a row by an average of 20 points per game, while the Rockets have been excellent at home and dispatching teams by a similar margin during their four-game winning streak. Even if Zion plays, I’m taking the hot team.

Prediction: Rockets 121, Pelicans 113
