Roger Federer Says He Knows It’s Right Decision to Retire
Roger Federer announced last week that he's retiring from professional tennis. Federeer will play one doubles match at the Laver Cup. He will be playing for Team Europe against Team World on Friday and then for Matteo Berrettini over the weekend. Rafael Nadal is expected to be Feder's partner in the final match. Federer had his third knee surgery in 1 1/2 years. The last operation came shortly after his last singles match — a quarterfinal loss to Hubert Hurkacz at Wimbledon in July 2021.
