Ronda Rousey Hints at a UFC Comeback After Losing Her First MMA Match in 7 Years at SummerSlam

Ronda Rousey is arguably one of the most influential figures in the wrestling and combat sports industry. The woman has achieved practically everything possible in her illustrious career and it’s difficult to add more astonishing feats to her name. With rumors of her WWE exit still ringing, it seems like she’s going back to where it all started.

Based on her latest post on Instagram, Rousey looks to be once again entering her yard, i.e. UFC, hinting at a possible comeback.

Is Ronda Rousey hinting at a UFC comeback?

The 3-time world champion has been one of the biggest box office tractions for WWE, similar to Brock Lesnar. She registers great sales because of her influence at a crossover level at both WWE and UFC.

Recently, Rousey voiced her interest in going back to the UFC. To add more spark to those claims, she has now taken to her social media to post an interesting video about UFC and Draft Kings, a sports betting company.

With UFC 292 going down this weekend, and Rousey’s sponsored video with Draft Kings, partnered with UFC, fans are guessing that this will eventually lead to her return to MMA.

Rousey’s contract with WWE was unlike other contracts. The “Baddest Woman on the Planet” had a non-negotiable leaving date, which means she didn’t have a non-compete clause. Since she holds a ton of credibility, she would like to have a similar contract with UFC.

While her 5-year run in WWE was controversial due to fans’ resentment of her, they still had an emotional reaction hearing about her exit. On top of that, she managed to leave on her terms by feuding with her best friend, Shayna Baszler.

Ending WWE on her own terms

With the UFC Haller of Famer always looking to end her tenure with Bazler and wanting to put her over, she lost to Bazler in MMA rules match at SummerSlam, making her first and only loss via submission in WWE.

Interestingly, this also marked her first loss in an MMA-style setting in almost 7 years, after last losing her match against Amanda Nunes in 2016 via TKO in UFC.

The 36-year-old then posted a heartfelt message on her social media, sharing an emotional message for Bazler, but eventually mentioning that she has no reason to stay.

Even though WWE fans would miss her commanding presence, they can surely hope to catch a glimpse of the iconic figure in the Octagon once again after more than 6 years. What is your take on Rousey dropping another hint at a UFC comeback? Share your views with us.
