Royal Ascot 2020: Dates, preview, race times, schedule, odds, weather and more

The Flat racing showpiece, Royal Ascot, gets underway today. The meeting has survived the coronavirus shutdown. However, the latter part of the National Hunt season was cancelled and the start of Ascott was delayed. There will be no fans in attendance this year.

Royal Ascot is scheduled for June 16-20 2020. It is less than two weeks after the Guineas meeting at Newmarket and a fortnight before the Derby and Oaks at Epsom.

There are 36 races on this year's card at Ascot. The first race starts at 1:15 pm BST and the last one at 4:40 pm.

There are eight Group One races on the card with at least one each day. Some of the races have been moved from their traditional slots to give more time between other key races in the same division.

The weather forecast suggests light rain on the first two days of the meeting. A more up to date forecast will be posted closer to the off.
