Royal Ascot 2021: Palace Pier cruises to victory in the Queen Anne Stakes
PALACE PIER won the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot 2021. Frankie Dettori was riding the horse. It was his first Royal Atcot winner since 1990. Lope Y Fernandez finished second, Sir Busker third. Dittori overtakes the late Pat Eddery on the roll of honour. He has 74 Royal Acot wins. Lester Piggott has 116 Royal atcot victories. Palace Pier is the son of Kingman. The horse was the leading three-year-old miler in Europe last season. His first two runs of the season were at Sandown and Newbury. Lopey Y Fernadez won by a length and a half.
Berkshire Shadow won the Coventry Stakes under Oisin Murphy. Dark Angel colt made it two wins from two starts. Vintage Clarets (25-1) came second with Paul Hanagan riding him. The colts were bought inexpensively by Andrew Balding and his mother. They were trained by Richard Fahey. The winner was given a quote of 25-1000 for next year's QIPCO 2,000 Guineas by Paddy Power.
