Royal Ascot 2022: Japanese star Shahryar looking to create history

Shahryar is hoping to become the first Japanese winner of the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot. He won the Japanese Derby last year and finished second in the Dubai Sheema Classic in March. Bay Bridge is the favourite to win the race, ridden by Ryan Moore. Lord North is also a contender to make history. He finished fourth in Tattersalls Gold Cup at The Curragh. State of Rest is a realistic contender for the win. John Gosden's Lord Nans won this race in 2020. The horse has won three global Group 1s in last 10 months.
