Royal Ascot: Queen & Frankie Dettori denied in two races while Kyprios wins Gold Cup

The Queen's favourite Reach For The Moon was beaten by Claymore in the Hampton Court Stakes. Frankie Dettori was also a runner-up on Saga, as Thesis won the Britannia Stake. He had a nightmare passage as Stradivarius was denied a record-equalling fourth Gold Cup. Kyprios, ridden by Ryan Moore, prevailed from Mojo Star. Saga lost by just a head to Theses. The Queen was not at the course. Her bloodstock adviser John Warren is disappointed.

Kyprios won the Gold Cup. Frankie Dettori was denied in two races. Moore won by half a length from Mojo Star. Dittori got a two-day ban for overuse of the whip and Moore for careless riding.  Kyrios was the winner.

The Ridler won the Norfolk Stakes. Paul Hanagan was banned for 10 days for careless riding. William Buick won his third race of the week. Secret State came second, Israr third and Magical Lagoon won in Ribblesdale Stake. Kyprios won Gold Cup.

Classic winners Cachet and Mangoustine are poised to clash in the Coronation Stakes. The Queen has a leading contender in Duke of Edinburgh Stake with Just Fine.
