Limited Liability is trained by Shug McGaughey lll. He won the 2011 Virginia Derby with Air Support. Limited Liabilities finished 7th in the Caesers Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes on July 9. Before that he finished third in Grade 2 Pennine Ridge Stake on June 4.

Royal Patronage is the big draw for today's race. The Chad Brown stable won the race in 2016 with Deeply Undervalued. The Todd Pletcher stable took the event in 2005 and 2007. It's only the third career run for Capensella. He won his first race at Belmont Park by 5 lengths. His last run was at Saratoga.
