Ruben Neves tipped for shock Premier League return after Wolves exit

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Ruben Neves could make a swift return to the Premier League with Newcastle United exploring their options.

The 26-year-old completed a club record £47million transfer move to Al Hilal in the summer after making 253 appearances in Old Gold. But to the surprise of many, Neves could return to English football just months later.

Newcastle are expected to be forced into the market to try and sign another central midfield player in January as Sandro Tonali faces a lengthy suspension. Tonali is being investigated by the Italian Prosecutor's Office and Italian Football Federation for breaching betting rules.

According to The Telegraph, the Magpies could look at borrowing Neves from the Saudi outfit given both clubs are controlled by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Though the club are likely to opt for a loan deal, money could also be made available.

The Portuguese has played a total of 11 games for Al Hilal so far this season, recording one goal and one assist in all competitions. The move would be an obvious annoyance to onlooking Wolves fans, for whom Neves was, and always will be, a club legend.

What are the odds for Bournemouth v Wolves?

Betway spokesman, Chad Yeomans, said “With home advantage, Bournemouth are the favourites to win this one at 11/8, Wolves are 19/10 for the win, with the draw available at 12/5. It’s been a challenging start to the season for Andoni Iraola’s men and their defence has been woeful. They have already conceded 18 goals, including 10 in their last three games, so we are seeing plenty of action in our goalscorers markets for the away team. The in-form Hee-Chan Hwang (2/1), Pedro Neto (5/2) and Fabio Silva (12/5) to score anytime are all proving popular picks.”

“Wolves grabbed four crucial points against Manchester City and Aston Villa before the international break, but they have only managed one clean sheet in eight League games, so their defence also appears vulnerable. As such, we have seen the selection of Both teams to score (13/20) in this contest being added to many punters’ accumulators.”
