Rugby: Rob Howley cops 18 month ban for betting scandal

Rob Howley has been suspended from all rugby activities for 18 months. He has admitted to breaching World Rugby's anti-corruption and betting regulations. Howly placed 363 prohibited bets on rugby union, featuring 1,163 matches in total, using three different agencies. A "comparatively small percentage" of Howleys bets were placed on matches involving Wales. The 49-year-old made losses of about £4,000 ($NZ8091). Howlee's betting on sports was a hobby, triggered by the death of his sister. It is also clear that Howle's bet on sporting events was part of a "hobby"
