RUGBY: Springbok and 'A' Squads Named for Europe Tour
The 54-man squad for the SA Rugby tour is made up of young players. The tour will be important for both the national team and the squad building for next year's Rugby World Cup. Nienaber tried to strike a balance between experience and exposing young talent. Stick is excited about the group of players that will travel with the 'A' team. He hopes to work with them. They will play against Ireland, France and England. It will also be a match-day squad. Manie, Sacha, Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Jenkins were called up to the team, while Jason was called to Leinster.
Springbok squad for Europe Tour is made up of Thomas du Toit, Steven Kitshoff, Vincent Koch, Frans Malherbe, Ox Nche, Malcolm Marx, Bongi Mbonambi, Eben Etzebeth, Jason Jenkins, Salmaan Moerat, Marvin Orie, Deon Fourie and Franco Mostert.
Springbok and A squads have been named for the Europe Tour. Forwards are Simphiwe Matanzima, Ntuthuko Mchunu, Sazi Sandi, Mornay Smith, Jan-Hendrik Wessels, Joseph Dweba, Andre-Hugo Venter, Ruan Nortje, Phepsi Buthelezi, Sikhumbuzo Notshe, Grant Williams, Apheelle Fassi, Cornal Hendricks, Henco van Wyk, Herschel Jantjies, Gianni Lombard, and Sanele Nohamba are the backs.
