England‘s superstar jockey Ryan Moore will be reunited with Golden Slipper winner Shinzo in the Group 1 $1m Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens later this month.

Coolmore's Tom Magnier told Racenet that Moore had agreed to return to Sydney to ride Chris Waller's crack colt in the three-year-old feature on September 23.

Moore answered Coolmore's SOS after it was discovered on Tuesday that Australia's champion rider James McDonald had sustained a fracture in his left foot that would require four weeks to heal.

"We have been chatting with Ryan since learning of James‘s injury," Magnier revealed.

"There are some feature races in England that weekend but nothing as big as Shinzo in the Golden Rose.

"Shinzo is a high profile colt, he is a Golden Slipper winner and Ryan knows the horse as well as anyone.

"Ryan‘s ride in the Golden Slipper was unbelievable and he is a big fan of this horse."

Magnier said Moore watched vision of Shinzo‘s exhibition gallop alongside star stablemate Militarize at Royal Randwick last Saturday and could not believe the physical development in the colt since his Slipper win.

"I remember Ryan telling me after the Golden Slipper that Shinzo was more like a three-year-old back then and he couldn‘t believe the size and power he saw in the gallop," Magnier said.

"Ryan can‘t wait to get back and ride Shinzo in the Golden Rose."

Shinzo is the $4.50 equal favourite alongside Slipper runner-up Cylinder for the Golden Rose in three weeks time.

Waller is taking a slightly unorthodox path by running his colt first up in the Golden Rose as the premier trainer has ambitions of securing a start for Shinzo in the $20m The TAB Everest next month.

Shinzo is a $13 chance in The TAB Everest betting.
