Ryan Moore out to ruin Kieran Shoemark's first audition as Frankie Dettori replacement in Grand Prix de Paris

RYAN MOORE is out to ruin Kieran Shoemark's first serious audition as Frankie Dettori's replacement - after a mad dash to France.

The world's best jockey gets the ride on controversial Irish Derby runner-up Adelaide River.

He will take on Soul Sister in the Group 1 Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp.

Dettori won the Oaks on Soul Sister but is banned from riding currently, with Shoemark getting the nod for this big one from trainer John Gosden.

Sun Racing's Matt Chapman told you Shoemark is in pole position to be the Gosdens' No1 rider once Dettori retires at the end of the season.

And punters could get a taste of what is to come in this blockbuster 1m4f contest worth £303,398 to the winner.

Adelaide River gave Auguste Rodin a hell of a contest in the Irish Derby, Moore just pushing the Derby winner home.

Seamie Heffernan's efforts on Adelaide River attracted some attention, but it's Moore who takes over in France.

Aidan O'Brien's No1 rides Capulet in the 4.10 at Newmarket and has a little over three hours to get to Paris for the 7.52 at Longchamp.

Speaking of his mount's chances, he told Betfair: "Hopefully, no travel issues as I am then off to France to ride in the Grand Prix de Paris.

"The Oaks winner Soul Sister could be the one to beat getting the sex allowance, but maybe Feed The Flame and my mount will have something to say about that.

"And, actually, I thought First Minister was pretty impressive when winning his Group 3 here last time.

"I could see him running a big race.

"A Group 1-placed two-year-old, we didn’t feel we had seen the best of Adelaide River in his first two starts this season.

"But he clearly came forward a good deal when second to Auguste Rodin in the Irish Derby.

"I see no reason why that run would have flattered him, for all White Birch and Sprewell underperformed, and he obviously has a leading chance here. It’s a tough race to call, though."

Soul Sister is around 5-4 to come out on top as fav while Adelaide River is a best-price 5-1.
