Scotland are without Edinburgh lock Grant Gilchrist, who was suspended for three weeks following his red card for a high hit to the head of French flanker Anthony Jelonch in Paris.
Glasgow second-row Scott Cummings has been added to the squad preparing for the game along with flanker Rory Darge, prop Simon Berghan and uncapped Warriors centre Stafford McDowall.
Josh Bayliss is also suspended and has returned to club side Bath.
Ireland’s Grand Slam hopes are set to get a major boost through the returns of key starters Tadhg Furlong, Jamison Gibson-Park and Robbie Henshaw from injury, with captain Johnny Sexton also fit after a groin issue that ruled him out against Italy.
Centre Garry Ringrose was a late withdrawal in Rome but should be fit here, while hooker Dan Sheehan is also now ready to start.
