Seattle will be coming into this game on a good note as they picked up 2 points vs the Dallas Stars in overtime on Tuesday. Seattle went thru a bit of a rough patch a couple weeks back but have turned it around and have worked themselves back into a wild card spot as the season starts to wind down.

The Kraken have one of the elite offences in the NHL especially when it comes to goal scoring, Seattle average 3.49 goals per game which ranks them 4th best in the NHL. However when you look at how many shots they get per game that number doesn’t make a lot of sense because they rank 22nd in shots on goal per game at only 30 per game. Furthermore the power play is not good at all converting at only 19%. It is truly remarkable to see how many goals this team scores when their numbers are this bad..
Defense
Defensively is the area that the Kraken tend to struggle, but one thing they do well is keeping the shots on goal against to a minimum, actually 3rd best in the NHL at only 27.7 per game, but they give up a lot of goals at 3.2 per game which is a result of poor goaltending. Personally I feel a big reason for that is the fact that the penalty is absolutely pathetic, only killing off 74% of opponent’s power play opportunities which ranks them at 26th in the league. The special teams of this Kraken team lets them down a lot.
Goaltending
Philipp Grubauer is the expected starter on Thursday night he has an up and down year going 13-12-4 with a 3.02 goals against average and a .893 save percentage. He was sick on Tuesday so there is a possibility he wont get the start but if he does he will be looking for his second straight win.
Nashville Predators
Nashville will also be coming into this game off of a win, Nashville played a great game vs the Buffalo Sabres and won 7-3. Nashville over their last 10 is 5-3-2 and are currently 5 points out of the final playoff spot.
Offense
Nashville is one of the bottom teams in terms of offence. The Predators only average 2.81 goals per game which ranks them near the bottom at 26th. A couple of the main reasons why they struggle to score is they don’t generate a lot of shots on goal, they rank in the bottom half of the league in that category as well, the power play doesn’t do much to help either only hitting at 18.1 percent which ranks them 26th in the NHL.
Defense
Defensively Nashville has been much stronger only giving up 2.94 goals per game and they also have a very strong penalty kill, killing off 82% of penalties. One area where they do struggle is with the amount of shots they give up at over 33 per game which ranks them 27th.

Jusse Saros should get the nod in net. Saros has had a very strong season for Nashville putting up a 27-19-7 record with the 11th best save percentage compared to all other goalies at .917.
