SEC basketball standings, projections entering March

The SEC is projected to have seven teams make the NCAA Tournament, which would be the second-most of any conference in the country. Only the Big 12 (nine) is predicted to have more teams make the NCAA Tournament than the SEC.

The Georgia Bulldogs have improved in year two under head coach Mike White. However, Georgia did not close several games that could have put the Dawgs in the NCAA Tournament conversation.

Nobody expected South Carolina to make the NCAA Tournament, but that’s why you play the games. The Gamecocks entered the year with rock-bottom preseason expectations and has the best overall record in the conferece.

Preseason SEC favorite Tennessee (-125) has the best odds to win the SEC regular season. Additionally, Alabama (-110) has a good chance to win the SEC regular season title.

The SEC tournament will be held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, from March 13-17. The conference’s full 14 teams participate. The SEC’s top 10 seeds will receive a first-round bye. Additionally, the top four seeds get another bye and don’t have to play in the first two rounds.
