Over the course of the season, San Jose has surpassed the over in 48 of their games, a 60% hit percentage, providing an 11.68% return on investment if you’ve been wagering on that throughout the year.
Flames Disappointing Season Conclude vs Sharks
Perhaps no team had more upheaval at the top of their roster than the Calgary Flames to start the year as they lost their top two scorers in the summer, Matthew Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau. However, they restocked the cupboards quite nicely, bringing in Nazem Kadri, Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar.
With those additions, many considered them a strong consideration in the Stanley Cup odds at the beginning of the year. However, goalie Jacob Markstrom, an early season contender in the Vezina Trophy odds, had a poor season by his standards and their two big additions up front didn’t live up to expectations.
After winning a Stanley Cup with Colorado, and notching a career-high 87 points, Kadri was expected to bring extra scoring depth, defensive acumen and playoff grit to this Flames lineup. Instead, he’s 32 points behind last season’s total and a team-worst -20 on the season.

Even worse might be the performance of Huberdeau, a player who finished just eight points behind Connor McDavid in the Art Ross race last year and was the chalk at times in the Hart Trophy odds last year. The former Panther has just 15 goals this campaign and is an incredible 60 points behind last season’s pace.
Sharks vs Flames Pick and Prediction
With nothing left to play for, the Flames should have enough pride to put in a decent goodbye performance in front of their home crowd. They’re definitely the better side in this matchup, as reflected in the NHL odds.
Sharks vs Flames Same-Game Parlay Picks
One of the few Flames players that actually exceeded expectations this season was winger Tyler Toffoli. He had career highs in goals with 34 and points with 73. It’s only fitting he goes out with a marker in his last outing of the year.
When two teams aren’t vying for anything significant, there’s usually a free and easy style of play, which lends itself to a lot of goals. These teams easily topped the goal total in their three head-to-head’s this season and we don’t see any reason why that trend stops in the NHL odds on Wednesday night.
