Sheriff 0-3 Real Madrid: Benzema helps Los Blancos into last 16
Karim Benzema scored on the same day he was handed a one-year suspended prison sentence and fined €75,000 for his part in the attempted blackmail of Mathieu Valbuena. Los Blancos beat Sheriff 3-0 to book their place in last 16 of the Champions League. David Alaba, Toni Kroos and Benzemas put Madrid 2-1 up at the break. Alabi scored his first Champions league goal for the club. Kroo scored in first-half stoppage time. Benzemaker added a third on 55 minutes. Sheriff scored late on but Madrid held on.
