Could the biggest star in baseball be on the move at this year's MLB trade deadline? The online sportsbooks in Canada seem to think there is a chance, releasing odds for Shohei Ohtani's next team.

Shohei Ohtani has been MLB's main attraction since he entered the league in 2018, thanks to his unique ability as both a hitter and pitcher. As such, we're looking at the best Shohei Ohtani player props for his return to the mound on Friday.

Ohtani has already locked up one AL MVP award and appears on his way to winning another as the clear AL MVP betting favorite at the All-Star break. The two-way wizard leads the league with 32 home runs, while also posting a 7-4 record with a 3.32 ERA through 17 starts on the mound.

But we have yet to see Ohtani play a postseason game, as the Los Angeles Angels haven't made the playoffs since 2014. With Ohtani set to enter free agency this offseason, there is speculation that he could be motivated to sign with a winning ball club this winter.

With the Angels currently seven games back in the AL West, are they prepared to let Ohtani walk for nothing? Or could they deal him during this year's trade deadline in a blockbuster move to shake up all MLB futures markets?

To get a better idea of what might happen, our MLB betting sites have set odds on where Ohtani will play after the deadline. Let's take a look, shall we?

This isn't the NBA, where players have so much leverage and can basically demand to be traded to a certain destination. If it were like that, we wouldn't be getting a +200 value on the team many expect to be the favorite to land Ohtani in the offseason.

But perhaps that thought process prevents too many teams from getting into a bidding war for Ohtani, especially if there is no guarantee that he will sign a long-term deal with a given team. The Dodgers are not only motivated to potentially start the Ohtani era earlier, but a blockbuster move might be the very thing that pushes them over the top for the 2023 World Series.

At this point in the season, Los Angeles is atop the NL West with a 51-38  record. Our latest World Series odds still list the Dodgers behind the Atlanta Braves in the National League, but a deal for Ohtani could vault them up the oddsboard.

It would give Ohtani his first chance at playing in the postseason, as the Dodgers have made the playoffs every year since 2013. They have just one World Series championship over that span, so it's easy to see them being aggressive at the chance to land a true difference maker.

If this deal were to happen, Ohtani would get to stay in Los Angeles and actually have an opportunity to compete for a championship. The Dodgers would close the gap on the Braves, while the Angels could get a stock pile of assets to better prepare them for life after Ohtani.

Everybody wins, right? Well, only if you are placing this +200 ticket.
