Slavia Prague vs Zorya
UEFA Europa League Qualification
Date: 24 August 2023, Thursday
Kick-off at 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
Venue: Fortuna Arena (Prague).

Slavia Prague eliminated Dnipro-1 4-1 on aggregate in the previous Europa League qualifying round courtesy of a 3-0 victory in the first leg on the home patch.

The Czech heavyweights will now face another Ukrainian side en route to the group stage of the competition.

Once again, they are the hosts in the first leg as Zorya Luhansk come to visit Fortuna Arena on Thursday evening.

The bookmakers see the hosts as massive favorites and it is easy to see why as Jindich Trpisovsky’s men are enjoying a fabulous form at the start of the season.

Slavia Prague won all five Czech Liga games at the beginning of the new campaign and currently sit alone atop the domestic league table with just two goals allowed in the process.

We really fancy Slavia’s chances of keeping things quiet defensively on Thursday as well knowing that Zorya have not shown the very best attacking display at the weekend.

The team led by Serbian manager Nenad Lalatovic (who got sent off late in the match) failed to register a single shot on target in the home clash against Oleksandria on Friday (ended in a goalless draw).

Zorya have managed just a single win in the inaugural four rounds of the new season in the Ukrainian elite class.

They do have defensive issues as well with two or more goals conceded in four successive matches (including two friendlies) before a 1-2 win at Vorskla eleven days ago.

Slavia Prague vs Zorya Head-to-head

  • This will be the maiden head to head encounter between Sčavia Prague and Zorya.

Slavia Prague vs Zorya Prediction

Zorya did not have a single attempt on target on Friday against Oleksandria. This is a very tough away clash for them against a team that shipped just two goals in five games at the start of the new Czech Liga season.

Slavia Prague to win to nil is the way to go at the 2.10 odds while we also like the Czech outfit to have the lead at the half time and win the match at the end at the 1.80 odds.

  • Slavia Prague to win to nil @ 2.10 (11/10)
  • HT/FT Slavia Prague/Slavia Prague @ 1.80 (4/5) odd.
