South Dakota vs. Oral Roberts prediction and odds for Monday, January 30

The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles could be headed back to the big dance come march, but for now they’re just trying to take care of business in the Summit League. They’ve done a great job of that so far.. The Golden Eagles are a perfect 10-0 in conference play and 19-4 overall, heading into this matchup with the South Dakota Coyotes. The Coyotes are 10-12 overall, 5-5 in Summit League play.

Their first matchup was postponed, so finally, South Dakota and Oral Roberts matchup in the Summit League. Let’s take a look at the odds.

South Dakota vs. Oral Roberts odds, spread and total

South Dakota vs. Oral Roberts prediction and pick

Oral Robert and Max Abmas are worthy favorites in this one, they’re steamrolling their way through conference play. They’re 11-8 against the spread this season, and when they’re at home, they’re 13-0 straight up. They’re in an especially good spot because South Dakota is 2-7 on the road.

When a team is a big favorite their pace of play is very important to me. A big favorite that plays slow has a harder time getting a blow out win than one who loves to get up and down the court. The more possessions in a game, the more the talent advantage shows. Oral Roberts is a great team to back with this idea in mind, they’re 67th in team possessions per game, 72.8, against South Dakota who is 288th, 67.9. Max Abmas will get plenty of opportunities to score on the Coyotes who are 327th in defensive efficiency. Abmas averages 22.0 points a night, but he could have 30 easily in this one.

Oral Roberts has too much firepower with Abmas and Connor Vanover inside, they’ll absolutely cruise in this one and I’m not scared by the 15 points spread.
