Can Southampton make the most of this rearranged mid-week fixture and climb out of the relegation zone?

This ended Thomas Frank’s team’s 12-match unbeaten run, the longest in the division, that dated back to 23 October.

Nevertheless, Brentford remain ninth, knowing a win on the South Coast would see them move above rivals Fulham and, potentially, Brighton, depending on the simultaneous result in Sussex.

The Bees were spanked 4-1 at St Mary’s 14 months ago, but this one is unlikely to go the same way.
