Spain women's team: 15 players threaten to quit if coach isn't fired

15 players from Spain's women's team have threatened to quit international duty if their coach Jorge Vilda is not fired. The players are unhappy with the management of injuries, the atmosphere in the locker room and Vildas team selection. Vida took over the women’s national team in 2015. The RFEF supports the coach. Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas is said to not be among the players who would quit the team. Luis Rubiales fired men's national coach Julen Lopetegui just before the 2018 World Cup because he took a job with Real Madrid.
