Sports betting now available at Prairie Band Casino

MAYETTA (KSNT) – People can now officially bet on sports at Prairie Band Casino after many say it was a long time coming.

In its first weekend, there a lots of opportunities to bet at the casino with a major sports weekend coming up.

This is the first local and tribal owned sportsbook in Kansas. It features 10 sports betting kiosks, a wall full of TV’s, and lots of food and drink. A spokesman for the casino says this is something the community wanted for a while, and much of it wouldn’t be possible without their support.

“That’s a testament to the Prairie Band Pottawatomie nation,” Sportsbook Manager Kyle Sipe said. “Once sports betting was legalized in Kansas, I don’t think there was any question what we would do, and that we would provide this new amenity.”

The sportsbook has been open for the past two weeks, but Friday afternoon the casino made the official grand opening to the public.

Those who placed bets and did not win on Friday can submit their $20 minimum slip to the casino tomorrow for a chance to win a variety of tickets and memorabilia. Including a signed Travis Kelce helmet and Sporting KC tickets.
