Sports to watch Christmas Day: What you can watch and bet on Xmas

Stuck at home on Christmas and looking for a game to watch? Need to bet some of that cash you had from your uncle under the tree? We’ve got you covered. Here’s all the major sporting events available today on December 25.

NFL

Raiders vs. Chiefs, 1 pm, CBS
Giants vs. Eagles, 4:30 pm, Fox
Ravens vs. 49ers, 8:15 pm, ABC/ESPN

The games should get better as the day improves, with a possible Super Bowl preview in San Francisco as the night cap. The Eagles now control their destiny in the NFC East, and this is the first of two games against the Giants in the last three weeks of the season. The Chiefs win the AFC West for the eighth year in a row with a victory over the Raiders today.

NBA

Bucks vs. Knicks, 12 pm, ESPN
Warriors vs. Nuggets, 2:30 pm, ABC/ESPN
Celtics vs. Lakers, 5:00 pm, ABC/ESPN
Sixers vs. Heat, 8:00 pm, ESPN
Mavericks vs. Suns, 10:30 pm, ESPN

This League has always unofficially kicked off for the casual fan on Christmas, but the In Season Tournament this year got them on the radar a bit earlier than usual. But there are some terrific matchups, including Steph Curry vs. Nikola Jokic, and Jimmy Butler vs. his former teammates from Philly.

The nightcap with Luka Doncic against Kevin Durant is a great way to get Boxing Day started as well.

NHL

There is no puck on frozen pond on both December 25 and 26. Cawlidge hawkey isn’t happening either, as D1 sits out from December 18-27.

College football and basketball

Both sports will not have any competition at the Division I level on December 25. The bowls are sitting out due to the NFL and NBA, and the last college games were in Hawai’i on Christmas Eve. So there’s not even a Hawai’i game to be to help you get unstuck if you’ve been gambling all day. A terrible job by college sports in a year full of terrible ideas from administrators.
