Spurs face largest betting spread of NBA season against Bucks

The perfect ingredients have come together to create the largest spread of the NBA season Wednesday, and it’s Gregg Popovich’s San Antonio Spurs on the underdog side of it.

The Spurs are playing on the second night of a road back-to-back Wednesday night, and under those already straining circumstances they get to face the NBA-leading Milwaukee Bucks, who haven’t played since Sunday.

If that sounds like a recipe for a game that could get ugly, it is. The Bucks are favored by 17.5 points over the Spurs, with -2500 moneyline odds. And I actually do expect them to cover that enormous spread.

The Spurs lost by 35 points to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday and are just a game up on the Houston Rockets for the worst record in the Western Conference. They’re tied with the best odds to land the No. 1 overall pick at the NBA draft lottery.

Their moneyline odds to beat Milwaukee are +1000!

That’s not a team equipped to test a well-rested Bucks squad that has lost just three games since Jan. 23 and has already clinched a playoff spot, led by a top-three MVP candidate.
