State lawmaker proposes bill for additional regulation of sports betting companies

State Sen. Pete Harckham wants to regulate how companies attract new customers to their platforms. Online sports books took in $1.5 billion in bets last month. Mobile sports betting was legalized this year. Some bettors are concerned over regulation.  Harckhan has legislative support. He wants the stakeholders to discuss the issue next year, before the bill is passed. New York collected a new record $75 million in taxes for education last year and Harcker supports legalized mobile sports gambling. The bill will be introduced next month, but nothing will happen until the participants discuss it.
