The UFC recently updated its Athlete Code of Conduct. It does not allow fighters to bet on teammates or on themselves to win. The reason is that athletes may have insider info when it comes to opponents.

Athletes are prohibited from placing any wagers on any UFC match. In most states with legalized sports betting, wagering by an athlete on an MMA match put on by a promoter with which they are affiliated is illegal. The same rules apply to relatives living in the same household as the athlete, coaches, managers, handlers, athletic trainers, medical professionals and staff, and anyone with access to non-public information regarding participants in any MMA fight. An athlete that becomes aware of has knowledge of any betting in violation of these restrictions must immediately notify UFC of such incident.

Ilir Latifi has been suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission for his staph infection. He is working to reach an adjudication agreement with the commission. He was allowed to fight Aleksei Oleinik earlier this month.

The Nevada Athletic Commission approved the proposed league via vote this past Tuesday. The league is called Power Slap League and will feature rules and weight classes based on MMA. UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell is part of the ownership group behind the new promotion.

PFL has signed a broadcast deal with DAZN. DAN will broadcast PFL events in 53 markets, including the UK, Ireland and Spain. Pfl Europe will launch in 2023. P FL Global League, PPL Challenger Series, and PFl Europe are the franchises that DAzN is co-investing in.

ONE Championship has signed a multi-year deal with Combate to broadcast MMA events in Brazil. The deal starts in 2023. UFC is focusing on its Fight Pass service in the South American nation.  Combate is owned by Globo. It had been the broadcast home of the UFC.
