Sunday's Eredivisie predictions including Ajax vs. Sparta Rotterdam

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Eredivisie fixtures, including Ajax vs. Sparta Rotterdam.

Two teams in search of three important points, albeit for different reasons, face off on Sunday as Cambuur entertain the challenge of Heerenveen at the Cambuur Stadion.

The hosts will be aiming to keep their pursuit of European football alive, while the away side set out to secure a crucial win in their relegation scrap.

We say: Cambuur 0-1 Heerenveen

Heerenveen have dominated this fixture to a large extent, and the odds are firmly in their favour to emerge victorious once again. While we expect Cambuur to put up a decent fight, we fancy the visitors to emerge triumphant come the sound of the full-time whistle.

Utrecht vs. PSV (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Round 22 of the 2022-23 Eredivisie season sees two of the current top seven teams go head-to-head at the Stadion Galgenwaard as FC Utrecht play host to PSV Eindhoven.

Both sides suffered defeat in their respective last outings, and they will now be looking to secure a return to winning ways as soon as possible.

We say: FC Utrecht 1-2 PSV Eindhoven

The sides boast a lot of attacking prowess, so we would not fancy either of them to come away with a clean sheet. That said, we are tipping PSV to narrowly edge their hosts and get the job done at the end of the 90 minutes.

Hoping to climb into the top four of the Eredivisie table, FC Twente will travel to take on Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday.

The visitors find themselves fifth in the midst of a 12-game unbeaten run in the league, while their hosts have dropped to 13th spot following a dip in their form.

We say: Go Ahead Eagles 0-2 FC Twente

FC Twente will be full of confidence given their growing unbeaten run and impressive return to winning ways last time out, and we back them to cruise past an out-of-sorts Go Ahead Eagles side on Sunday, even away from home.

Ajax vs. Sparta (Sunday, 3.45pm)

Ajax will look to stay in close proximity to the top of the Eredivisie table when they play host to Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday.

However, they face opponents who have put together a prolonged unbeaten run in the league and trail their more illustrious hosts by just six points.

We say: Ajax 2-0 Sparta Rotterdam

While Ajax are naturally the favourites to prevail from this fixture, Sparta cannot be discounted, particularly given the home side's efforts earlier in the week. Nevertheless, we have to back Ajax to come through with three points, even if they are made to work hard for a maximum haul.

Two sides hoping to improve their fortunes in the bottom half of the Eredivisie table will meet on Sunday, as SBV Excelsior entertain NEC.

Having both gone four league matches without a win, the hosts sit 14th with a four-point lead over the bottom three, while their visitors are four points better off in 11th spot.

Both teams are low on confidence and struggling for form currently, but the visitors have at least managed to show their quality in patches this season, and given that they are hard to beat and that the hosts are particularly leaky at the back, we see NEC having enough to find a decisive goal and come out on top on their travels.
