Super League play-off fixtures for 2023 confirmed

WARRINGTON Wolves are officially in the race to Old Trafford having secured their Super League play-off place tonight.

The Wire are back in the top six having finished second-bottom last year, and they will be hoping to advance past the first round for the first time since reaching the Grand Final back in 2018.

If they are to beat the odds and make it all the way to the Theatre of Dreams, however, they are going to have to take the hardest route possible.

Having finished sixth in the final standings following tonight's 20-8 win at Huddersfield Giants, The Wire will travel to neighbours St Helens, who finished third, in the eliminator round on Saturday September 30, kick off 12.45pm

The game at The Totally Wicked Stadium will be shown live on both Sky Sports and Channel Four.

The Wire have lost all three of their meetings with Saints this year - the most recent being the 18-6 defeat at The Halliwell Jones Stadium last weekend - as part of a run of six straight losses against the Red Vee.

And should they make it through that game, they are guaranteed as the lowest-ranked side to face League Leaders' Shield winners Wigan Warriors in the semi-finals on Saturday, October 7 - a game that will also be shown live on Sky Sports and Channel Four.

Warrington's recent record against Wigan is similarly dreary having lost the past five meetings between the sides, including three this year.

Should they advance past the eliminator round, Wire would face a trip to League Leaders' Shield winners Wigan in the semi-finals
