The NRL expanded in the off-season. There are uneven number of teams, so each week one team has a bye. The byes are not evenly scheduled. Sharks have bye in rounds 6, 13, 17, and 24, Broncos in 16, 19, 25, Rabbitohs in 20, 20 and 26, Knights in 10, 14,19, 7, 3, 16 and 19. Panthers, Storm, Roosters and Titans have two byees in each round.

There are a lot of 'gun' contenders at fullback in SuperCoach NRL 2023. Nicho Hynes is no longer going to be available at the position. Joey Manu and Val Holmes are also going out of eligibility. Latrell Mitchell, Ryan Papenhuyzen, Tom Trbojevic and James Tedesco make up the top-four.

The draw for SuperCoach NRL 2023 will determine which players you buy to start the season. Teddy, Papenhuyzen, Turbo and Mitchell are all of similar class.

Latrell Mitchell is an early buy for the Rabbitohs. The team has late byes in round 16, round 20 and round 26. Mitchell added better than 10PPG net in goalkicking in 2022 and better in 2018 and 2019 when kicking for Roosters.

Ryan Papenhuyzen played only 12 games in 2022 and 13 in 2021. Melbourne have byes in rounds 9 and 10. Papenhuyen is an early buy but he's not a long-term prospect.

Tom Trbojevic has played just 29 games in the last three seasons. His team, Manly, has a bye in round 19. Turbo is going to be cheap to start the season thanks to averaging just 61PPG in 2022.

James Tedesco is a premium fullback for SuperCoach NRL 2023. He has averaged 1600+ points per year in his past five seasons. The Roosters miss rounds 4, 13 and 19.
