Telfer’s kicking some big Goals
Steve and Amanda Telfer are training harness racing's brother and sister team. They are in their second year of training and are aiming to win the New Zealand Trainers Premiership. Steve came to New Zealander in 1994 and worked for Barry Purdon for 5 years. Amanda came from Australia 9 years ago and she worked as a travelling foreman for Steve and Chris. Stonewall Stud at Ardmore is a purpose built harness race stud and training facility spread across 140 acres with an additional 160 acres leased nearby. Steve has around 100 horses in training on his books and they are building a new training establishment at Jack Smolenski’s old property.
