The latest Spurs rumors ahead of the NBA Draft

The NBA Finals are past the midway point. The NBA Draft is inching closer. Spurs have three first round picks (9th, 20th via the Raptors, and 25th from the Celtics) plus the 38th pick in the second round.

The Spurs are interested in moving up in the draft. They don't plan to bring too many rookies to training camp. The Spurs have three first-round picks. Rockets and Kings are open to trading their top 4 picks, but Dejounte Murray is the only player they have that can be a franchise-changer. Spurs might trade their late first round picks to move up to middle of the first draft, and then look for a partner. Hornets have the 13th and 15th picks and have expressed interest in some Spurs players in past. Nuggets could trade 21st pick to Spurs for 20th pick and 25th.

The draft is one way the Spurs plan to shore up their forward positions. OG Anunoby is coming off a season with averages of 17.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals. He is unhappy with his current team, the Raptors.

Anunoby is set to enter the second year of a four-year, $72 million deal with the Spurs. The Spurs could find a draft night deal that would send the 25th pick and someone like Josh Richardson and/or Jakob Poeltl to Toronto.

The Spurs are interested in OG Anunoby. They don't have a superstar taking a lot of shots.

The Spurs are interested in signing Collin Sexton. He is a 6'1" guard who played last season with a torn meniscus in his left knee. The Spurs have cap flexibility this summer. He would provide the Spurs with the go-to scorer they currently lack.
