The NHL 2023-24 Season Schedule Is Here

Let the countdown begin!

The NHL season just ended with the Vegas Golden Knights winning the Stanley Cup and taking over the Las Vegas Strip with an instantly iconic parade.

The league isn’t wasting any time, however, and has already announced next season’s schedule to different NHL news outlets. Taking a page from the NFL’s book, many teams in the NHL put out creative schedule release videos to celebrate the occasion. Some of the highlights were the Detroit Red Wings’ riff on Wes Anderson—the acclaimed filmmaker whose trademark style has recently become a trend on social media. The Chicago Blackhawks hot dog video was another standout while the defending champion Golden Knights mirrored the credits from the first Hangover movie for theirs.

Oh yes we did.

The season doesn’t start until October 10th, which is still a long wait for hockey fans eager to see players back on the ice. Until then we can count on the NHL news and rumors to keep us entertained. The 2023-2024 season opens up with the Nashville Predators heading to Tampa Bay to face the Lightning.

There’s no place like home.

The defending champions won’t be far behind as the Golden Knights will host the Seattle Kraken on opening day and raise their first-ever championship banner. That won’t be the only notable matchup the two teams have. The Golden Knights will head to Seattle for The 2024 Winter Classic on January 1 at T-Mobile Park, which is where the Seattle Mariners play. Ironically, the Golden Knights’ home arena is called T-Mobile Arena so it’ll be like a home-away-from-home game. That’s the only game that will be played on New Year’s Day.

The NHL Stadium Series will be happening in New Jersey next year at MetLife Stadium, the home of the New York Jets and Giants of the NFL. The New Jersey Devils will host the Philadelphia Flyers on February 17 and that will be followed up on February 18 with a matchup between the New York Rangers and New York Islanders.

One of the most fun hockey traditions in America will continue this season with a post-Thanksgiving slate of 15 games on November 24, the day after Thanksgiving. After gorging yourself on Thursday, you can spend the next day watching hockey for hours.

Another notable matchup will be December 23 when the Golden Knights and Florida Panthers face off for the first time since the Stanley Cup. Considering how contentious the Stanley Cup was, it’s safe to say that there will be some high tension in that matchup. Those fans of betting online should start getting ready for this Stanley Cup rematch.

The 2024 NHL All-Star game will be taking place in Toronto, Canada this season. It will be happening at Scotiabank Arena from February 2-3. It will be the ninth time that Toronto has hosted the NHL’s biggest stars.

It’s looking like the 2023-2024 season could be another exciting one for the NHL. There is a litany of good matchups to keep an eye on once October rolls around.
