Yankees beat the Red Sox to extend their lead in the American League East to 7 1/2 games. Second-place Toronto lost to the Rays earlier in night. Aaron Judge came within 4 feet of Roger Maris’ single-season Yankees record of 61 home runs. Jameson Taillon pitched six scoreless innings and Clay Holmes earned the win. Reese McGuire hit a three-run home run to eclipse the advantage. Triston Casas hit another three runs to make it 3-1. Tommy Pham hit the first out of the ninth. It was the 10th time in 10 at-bats that Aaron had hit against Michael Wacha.
