Tigers to travel for first Premiership away game

Vicky Macqueen has named the matchday squad for Saturday's maiden Allianz Premiership Women's Rugby away game, as the side travel to Gloucester-Hartpury.

As well as competing alongside the men's side in a double-header at Kingsholm, the team will also compete for the inaugural women's Slater Cup.

Natasha Jones will captain the side, while three players are in line to make their debut for the club.

The front-row sees two changes at props as Leah Bartlett and Keia Mae Sagapolu Sanele, both of whom made an impact off the bench last week, come in at loosehead and tighthead respectively.

The second-row sees a new partnership as Catha Jacobs is set for her Tigers debut, the Springbok partnering up with Charlotte Fray who started on the bench in the side's opening round match.

The back-row sees wholesale positional shifts, including both of last week's second rows dropping back; Scottish International Eva Donaldson moves to blindside flanker, Morgan Richardson moves across to openside and Becky Noon drops to the back of the scrum at No. 8.

In the backs, Amy Relf returns to scrum-half, while the midfield is retained from last time out, the fly half and both centres retained.

The back-three sees one change, with Tess Feury brought in at fullback, the USA international also having come off the bench last week.

Finally, on the bench, Churchy Knight is in line to make her Allianz Premiership Women's Rugby debut while new signings from Warriors Women Lisa Cockburn and Sarah Nicholas are also all set for their first appearances for Tigers. If both enter the field, it will mean there have been 24 debuts for the club in the 2023/24 season.
