Timberwolves vs. Knicks NBA Player Props, Odds: Knicks Look to Snap Three-Game Skid at Home

Our Timberwolves vs. Knicks NBA player props are based on the best NBA odds from the best sports betting apps, and we examine whether New York can get back on track against Minnesota.

Over the weekend, the New York Knicks grabbed headlines by trading Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and a second-round draft pick to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn. Anunoby is questionable to make his Knicks debut on Monday, but we won't anticipate significant minutes even if he's available.

The Minnesota Timberwolves secured a dramatic victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in a Saturday matchup, and they currently lead the Western Conference with a 24-7 record. The Knicks aim to halt a three-game skid and seek revenge against the Wolves, who handed them a 117-100 defeat in Minnesota on Nov. 20.

Who will prevail in the first NBA game of 2024? Regardless of the final score, we’ve dug up three profitable player props for this Monday afternoon showdown at Madison Square Garden.

Here are our best Timberwolves vs. Knicks NBA player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Timberwolves vs. Knicks NBA player props

Rudy Gobert Over 2.5 blocks (+175 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Gobert’s standard blocks prop is set at 1.5, and it’s ridiculously juiced. We’re not going to bet that prop at -190 odds across our best sports betting sites, but we can certainly bet on it at 2.5 for plus-money odds. FanDuel is the only book offering the alternate blocks prop, so we’ll look there to make this wager.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year has rejected at least two shots in 22 of 31 games in 2023-24, and he’s swatted at least three in 11 contests. The Knicks have surrendered some massive block totals to opposing centers this season, including eight to Brook Lopez earlier and four each to Nic Claxton and Chet Holmgren in two of their last six contests.

The Knicks are tied with the Houston Rockets and the Utah Jazz for the most blocks allowed to opponents across their last three outings, giving up a whopping 7.7. Gobert has swatted at least three shots in two of his last five matchups, and he’s in a great position to do so again Monday against a team that will likely be out of sorts offensively after its recent blockbuster trade.

Jalen Brunson Over 26.5 points (-120 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Wolves are allowing the fewest points in 2023-24, but someone needs to pick up the scoring load for New York after losing two 15-plus-point scorers in Quickley and Barrett. Brunson went off for 25 points at Minnesota earlier in the campaign, and he’ll need just one more bucket in this tilt to cash the Over here.

Brunson is averaging 19.3 field-goal attempts and 6.3 3-point attempts overall. But those attempts go up to 23 and 7.5, respectively, in the six games Brunson has played without Barrett in 2023-24. His usage rate also jumps from 28.7 to 30.9 minutes. He’s averaged 29.8 points in those games while scoring at least 27 points three times.

Brunson has been hot lately, and he’s averaged 29.2 points per game over his last five. That includes games with at least 36 points in each of his last two home outings. This affair will be played at 3:00 p.m. ET, and Brunson is averaging 31.3 points over three daytime contests during 2023-24.

Karl-Anthony Towns Over 31.5 points + rebounds + assists (-106 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

We’re going out on a bit of a limb here, as Towns has been slumping lately while posting just 11.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across his last three matchups. But Monday’s clash with New York offers a great get-right spot. New York ranks 14th in points allowed to opponents in 2023-24, but the Knicks' defense has been the most generous over its last three games while surrendering 128.7 points during that span.

New York allows the 10th-highest 3-point percentage. That's great news for Towns, who hits nearly two triples per game. Despite his recent lull, Towns has produced at least 32 points, rebounds, and assists in 16 of 30 games during 2023-24. He averages 28.5 at home compared to 32.4 on the road, and 10 of those 16 games have come on the road. We’re taking the Over and betting on a bounce-back performance.
