Tom O'Brien in line for Silver Streak ride with Adam Wedge ruled out

Adam Wedge will miss the Cheltenham Festival next week. He has a fracture to his T12 after riding at Newbury on Friday. Tom O'Brien will replace Wedgey on Tuesday's Champion Hurdle hope Silver Streak. Secret Reprieve will not run at the festival. Coole Cody is likely to contest the Plate and Dans Le Vent will be a first festival ride for trainer's daughter Isabel.

Jonjo O'Neill Jr expects to be back riding at the Cheltenham Festival next week. He hasn't ridden since a fall at Leicester last week and has no booked rides for the coming days. O’Neill rode a personal-best of 61 winners last season and collected £598,850 in win and place prize-money.

There are enhanced efforts made to ensure equine safety at the Cheltenham Festival. All horses that will run at festival have to give all medication records from January 30 to the day of their race. Every horse will be trotted up in the stable facilities to check their soundness. Trainers of horses with an unusual gait have the opportunity to share videos with the BHA's vets before racing.

The Shunter is among the market leaders for the Coral Cup, Grand Annual, Paddy Power Plate, County Hurdle and Martin Pipe. The Shuns is a Paul Byrne-owned eight-year-old. He has five entries but trainer Emmet Mullins is unsure where he will line up next week. The horse won the Morebattle Hundle last week at Kelso.
